Hi there. My name's Brittany - a Speech-Language Pathologist (known to many as a speech therapist) fresh out of graduate school. I work with adults and geriatrics (a.k.a. old folks) who need therapy for speech, language, cognitive, & swallowing disorders (yes, swallowing. I know, I know, "speech-language" doesn't make it very obvious).
Enough about me. Time for the wise to shine. My patients come from many backgrounds....different places...different races....different riches....different rags....different troubles....different travels....different tears.....and different years. Some of my patient's have alzheimer's, others have suffered from strokes, and others...well, others just want to be able to swallow "regular food" and non-thickened liquids for their last days on this vast yet tiny earth.
But every single person has a story. Some share words of wisdom. Others tell a joke. But every single man and woman has something to say that is worth writing down.
I want to remember what they say. And I hope you do too.
